Dermot Murnaghan is a broadcaster whose career spans four decades and all of the UK’s major broadcast networks. He has helmed many of the UK’s most prominent news programmes, including ITV’s News at Ten, BBC Breakfast and Channel 4 News.
Dermot spent sixteen years as one of the lead anchors on Sky News, where among other prominent roles he fronted Murnaghan on Sunday, a weekly show interviewing some of the biggest names in politics.
As well as covering the news, Dermot also hosted the BBC quiz show Eggheads between 2003 and 2014.
In 2000 Dermot won the prestigious Newscaster of the Year award from the Television & Radio Industries Club - an award given for 'maintaining a consistent standard above all others'. He also won the 1999 Royal Television Society’s Interviewer of The Year Award for his interview with Peter Mandelson.
Most importantly, he is an Arsenal fan.
