With five awards, fourteen hit solo comedy shows, and her critically acclaimed Channel 4 sitcom The Change recently receiving a BAFTA nomination and longlisted for the TV Choice Awards, Bridget Christie is a renowned comedian, actor and writer.
Bridget’s show A Bic For Her (which broke box office records at Soho Theatre) won many awards including, the Foster’s 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, the 2014 South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best Comedy, the 2014 Chortle Award for Best Show and a 2014 Hospital 100 Club Award for Performance and Theatre.
In 2015, Bridget won a Marie Claire Woman at the Top Award and a Red Woman of the Year Award. Her hugely critically acclaimed 2016 show Because You Demanded It (about Britain’s decision to leave the European Union), was The Guardian’s No 1 Comedy of 2016, won the Chortle Award for Best show 2017 and completely sold out its Edinburgh and West End runs. Also in 2016 Bridget’s debut live stand-up special, Stand Up for Her, was streamed on Netflix, making her the first British female comedian with a stand up special on the streaming service.
Bridget’s third critically acclaimed radio series, Bridget Christie’s Utopia was a finalist in the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2018 for Best Comedy (longform) and her fourth series, Mortal won this award in 2022.
Her debut book, A Book for Her received critical acclaim and was one of the Top 100 Books for Christmas in The Telegraph, the Top Ten Comedy Books in The List and Book of the Day in The Observer newspaper.
In addition to these accolades, Bridget has appeared in various TV and radio shows including Have I Got News For You, QI, Harry Hill’s Alien Fun Capsule, The News Quiz, Dilemma, and Taskmaster Series 13 which won her a legion of new fans.
Bridget’s star-studded, critically acclaimed comedy drama series The Change (Channel 4) was longlisted for the 2023 TV Choice Awards and nominated in 2024 for both an RTS Comedy Writing Award and a BAFTA Award for her Performance in Comedy. The Guardian proclaimed that “[this] super-cool menopause comedy is like nothing else on TV”. Series Two, which is also co-directed by Bridget, will be coming out in 2025.
